Walking Mountains Science Center’s Sustainability Hub supports local residents in making their homes more efficient, comfortable, and affordable to live in. Their sustainability programs act as an agent of change in Eagle County, providing energy efficiency and assistance, climate action initiatives, sustainable business support, and recycling and waste diversion resources that strengthen our community and housing for locals.

Energy Smart Colorado

Energy Smart Colorado is a nonprofit collaboration working across 20 Colorado counties to make home and business energy improvements simple and affordable, so more locals can stay in housing that is healthy, efficient, and comfortable. Through their community partners, residents can access home energy assessments, expert advice, and financial support such as rebates, tax credits, loans, and utility on-bill repayment programs, plus connections to trusted local contractors.

Northwest Colorado Council of Governments – Energy Program

The Northwest Colorado Council of Governments (NWCCOG) Energy Program provides free energy efficiency services to income-qualified households across 13 counties in Northwest Colorado, helping preserve affordable housing and lower utility bills for locals. Through programs such as the Weatherization Assistance Program, Colorado’s Affordable Residential Energy Program (CARE), and the Crisis Intervention Program, qualified households receive an energy audit and installation of improvements including insulation, air sealing, storm windows, and, in some cases, new high-efficiency furnaces and refrigerators at no cost.

Rewiring America is a national nonprofit focused on making home, business, and community electrification simple and affordable.
